In the sea of mattress options out there, a lot of the real expert and engineering value gets drowned out by marketing. Everyone talks about how comfortable their mattresses are, how much support they give, and the word orthopaedic gets thrown around like Coca-Cola.

We keep seeing labels like Made in the UK, Made in Ireland and other grand marketing claims. Producing latex foam is a complex, skilled technological process. Cutting, assembling and putting the mattress together is something else entirely. Just assembling a mattress does not make you a latex producer. Be careful with this.
No factory using the Dunlop process will ever mix in the Talalay process. Both use the same latex base, but the moulding and finishing methods are completely different.
Trying to blend Dunlop and Talalay is another marketing move. Engineering standards for firmness have nothing to do with the process itself. Foam density is standardised for all firmness levels.
If someone tries to sell you a mattress with just a few inches of latex on top, then adds other foams or springs underneath, and calls it a latex mattress, that is misleading. There is nothing better in terms of quality and comfort than a 100% natural latex mattress.
